Why We Exist

We exist to provide students with a strong academic foundation in a Christ-centered environment where lives can be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Us

West End Christian School is located in Hopewell, Virginia, just ten minutes from Fort Lee.  WECS is a Christ-centered, fully accredited, college-preparatory school serving students from Pre-K2 through 12th grade. Founded over 65 years ago, WECS has built a strong legacy of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and service to others.

With a close-knit student body of over 275 students and a dedicated team of caring faculty and staff, WECS offers a nurturing environment where each child is known, loved, and challenged to reach their full potential. Our graduates have gone on to attend respected colleges and universities such as Liberty University, the University of Richmond, Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, VMI, The College of William & Mary, and many more.

No matter where your journey leads after graduation, West End Christian School remains committed to partnering with you—preparing you to lead with faith, serve with purpose, and thrive in every season of life.

How We Partner with You

At West End Christian School, we believe that true educational excellence goes beyond academics. It’s about shaping the whole person—spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically—to thrive in today’s world and lead with purpose.

Our foundation is built on the eternal truth of God’s Word, the Holy Scriptures. This Christ-centered approach works in harmony with the home and the church to form a strong support system—one that builds character, cultivates faith, and equips students to live out Biblical principles in a complex and ever-changing culture.

We are committed to preparing students not just for academic success, but for a life of wisdom, integrity, and service. Our approach focuses on four key areas:

At the heart of West End Christian School is a deep and lasting commitment: to prepare students for life, both in and beyond the classroom. Our teachers and coaches invest not only in academic achievement, but in the spiritual, emotional, and personal growth of every student. This commitment reaches far beyond the school day and campus walls—into families, neighborhoods, and the broader community.

At WECS, we’re not just educating students—we’re equipping the next generation of leaders to live with purpose, serve with compassion, and stand firm in their faith.
