Boys Varsity Basketball

We traveled to Chesterfield and dropped a close game to Spirit Athletics Home School 54-51, rallying from an 11 point late game deficit to lose by just 3. Vincent scored 19 points and Nic had 13. Next we put it all together against Banner Christian with a 72-48 blowout of the Bearcats. Nic ripped the nets for 29 points, Bobby Devers had a career high 20 points and Vincent added 16 points. We then hosted Appomattox Regional Governor’s School and faced the number one scorer in the region. His 41 points was the difference as they beat us 113-71. Vincent had a great game with 25 points, hitting 10 of 12 shots from the floor. Nic hit for 21 points and Alex was hot with 11 points. The boys record stands at [5-8] overall and [3-3 VCAA].
The Crusaders fell short to Victory Christian 66-58, Sulc led with 24 points, Devers added 11 and Brown 10. In our “Good bye to Coach Dillon Night”, we were beaten by Central Virginia Home School 81-59, without an injured Bobby Devers. Nic poured in 32 points to lead the way. We next traveled to Wakefield for the Tidewater Academy Holiday tournament, with only 7 players. State ranked Tidewater rolled up a big first quarter lead and coasted to a 63-31 win. Only 3 West Enders scored as Sulc had 17, Brown had 11 and Cody Moore hit a three.
In the consolation game for third place, Timmy warthan and Sulc fouled out as Alliance Christian pulled away from a tight game to win big, 87-59. Brown tallied 22 points. The Crusaders are [4-6 overall] and [2-2 VCAA].
Nic has an 18.2 scoring average, Vincent is at 14.8 PPG and Bobby is 7.6 PPG.
The Crusaders beat Spirit 57-43, led by Vincent Brown’s 21 points, Richmond Christian 55-54 on a last second jumper by Nic Sulc, who poured in 36 points for the game; lost to Evangel 87-38 in the 3 point Marketing championship game; Sulc had 21 points; beat Banner Christian 42-40 on another last second shot by Sulc; lost to Appomattox RGS 82-51, with Vincent Brown hitting for 23 points, then beat Grove Ave. 88-50, Sulc scoring 27 points. Sulc leads the team with a 21.0 average, Brown has a 15.7 average, Bobby Devers is 7.0 PPG.
[won- 15, lost- 11] [10-2 VCAA conference] Highlights- beat Tidewater Academy 62-58, Colonial Heights High 63-61, Heritage Academy 71-68, lost to Hopewell High by only 96-90, beat Evangel 74-72, with Eric scoring 40 points!
Eric Beale has [24.4] points per game, Justin Moore [13.2], Scott Young [11.6], Mike Moser [9.2], Eric Ferguson [4.5], David Leming [4.0], Travis Hathaway [3.2], Bobby Devers [2.8], Vincent Brown [2.6], Brandon Ketron [2.4], Manuel Wallace [2.1], Chris Curry [2.0], and Tim warthan [0.2].
Justin has [10.6] rebounds per game, Scott has [4.5] assists and [2.4] steals per game, Eric also has [2.4] steals per game. Eric has splashed the ball into the twine from three point range 49 times, Mike has 45, Scott 15, Brandon 4, Manuel and Chris 2, Vincent and Bobby one each.
The Crusaders finished second in the John Buckley Memorial Tournament at Evangel, beating Central Virginia Home School 68-36, before losing to Evangel Christian 61-54. Next, we swamped Spirit Athletics 68-14, in our first conference game. We lost to a tough Amelia Academy team, 75-57 in the Three Point Marketing Tournament, to set the current record at [2-2]. Eric Beale leads the scoring with a hefty 22 points per game, followed by Scott Young at 14 PPG, Justin Moore at 8.2 PPG, and Vincent Brown is averaging 5 PPG.
