Why do we exist?
Mission Statement: Our mission is to serve God by providing a high quality, biblically based educational and instructional program marked by biblically integrated academics and the pursuit of a consistent Christian worldview in order to prepare our students for the rest of their life.

What do we believe?
West End Christian School (WECS) is an educational ministry of West End Presbyterian Church (WEPC) (www.wepc-hopewell.org) under the oversight of the Session of WEPC and as such is related denominationally to the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The PCA (www.pcanet.org) is committed to the Scriptures, the Great Commission and the Reformed Faith.
Being faithful to our convictions, we give instruction to children and youth from within a biblical framework as interpreted through the historic, orthodox creeds and doctrines of the Church. In particular it views God, life, and scripture through the lens of biblical interpretation presented by the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
Who attends?
WECS is committed to the biblical belief that the responsibility for the education and nurture of the child rests with the parent. WECS also recognizes the necessity for the church and the school to work together with the family to provide a unified world view. The school is not to take the place of the home or the church, but as an extension of the home, it is committed to help parents fulfill their Christian responsibilities.
Primarily, children from homes where one or both parents have personally embraced Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and who hold active membership in a local Christian church, attend WECS. Children and youth representing every major denomination comprise the student body. Secondarily, children from homes where the parents have not personally embraced Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are eligible to attend WECS. It is our mission to share the good news of the gospel with these children and their families in hope that they will become followers of Christ Jesus.
